North Wales Dolls House & Miniaturist Club

North Wales Doll House and Miniaturist Club has been in existence for almost 25 years and meets once a month at Craig y Don Community Centre on the second Thursday of the month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

The club exists to promote the hobby of dolls houses and miniatures by encouraging members to learn, practise and share skills.

Club meetings are fun and informal. Each time the club meets members are given the opportunity to make an item for their own dolls house by purchasing a kit (usually costing no more than £3.00). Full tuition is given and at the end of the evening members have a dolls house minitaure that they have made themselves to take home! The club works in 1/12th scale i.e. 1'' = 1 foot (the dolls house hobby still mainly uses imperial not metric measurments).

Also during the year the club arranges a couple of full day workshops which enable members to have a go at more complex projects.

A feature of the club is that it periodically puts on exhibitions and the club is particulary known for this and in recent years has exhibited at the National Trust Property, Penrhnyn Castle, the Victorian Extravaganza and most recently at Bodelwyddan Castle in early 2013. In fact all the photos on these pages come from that exhibition

We are always interested to hear from people who would like to join and the best way to arrange this is to contact Jennifer Robinson, club chairman on 01492 660684 or Lorraine Taylor, club secretary on 07552 130963 or just come along on a club night to see what goes on (this will cost you £2.50 which is refundable when you join, club subscription is £25.00 a year).
